After 15 exhibitions at mi - so, representing one artist at the time, we felt the need to pause and to look back on what we have done in the last years. We’ve selected some of our favourite works from recent exhibitions and combined them with a few new pieces, resulting in our first group show feat. Richard Skelton, Morgan Cuinet, Franziska Lutze, Erik K Skodvin and Monique Recknagel.

Richard Skelton is a British artist, writer and composer. His work often evolves from sustained immersion in specific environments and wide-ranging research incorporating toponymy and language, archaeology and geology, folklore and myth.
His works comes from the exhibition : Eschatology
A series of collages reflecting the desolation wrought by Storm Éowyn in January of 2025. Many of the text fragments come from a single volume: a theological treatise on the Revelation of St. John the Divine. The book itself was found in a disused book repository on a lonely country lane in Northern Ireland. Its discovery seemed like more than chance, as Richard and his wife Autumn had evacuated to the area following the widespread power cuts and water shortages that followed in the wake of the storm. As J.G. Ballard once wrote, ‘deep assignments run through all our lives; there are no coincidences.’ ”

Morgan Cuinet is a monomaniacal collage artist based in eastern France. He is the co-founder of the experimental music label Hands In The Dark and also works as a social worker. He is the author of several collage books: Suspendu (2019), Zones (2020), and Se Rendre (with Amélie Fleury, 2020).
His works comes from the exhibition : ekotopia.
Morgan Cuinet achieves a form of questioning that is both poetic and concrete, exploring what is revealed through the plants that surround us, the nature that envelops the world, intertwining with it and within it. Everything overlaps, these images seem to say. Through a play of juxtapositions, each plant inhabits and haunts the other. In the same way, these collages haunt those who look at them. They are icons of our present time, which recognizes that flowers, plants, and nature are essential to our lives, and they will outlast us, withstanding everything. Their metamorphoses tell the story of our world. These images tell the story of our lives.
ekotopia is also released as an art book on
mi - so editions / sonic pieces.
Franziska Lutze The artist and designer Franziska Lutze lives and works in Berlin. For her textile works she uses a historical, traditional dyeing technique, called blue printing (Blaudruck in German). Franziska collaborates with the oldest blue printing company in Europe, which has existed in Einbeck since 1638. She reinterprets this dyeing technique, which has been part of the Unesco World Heritage since 2018, in her own way and only uses natural textiles such as cotton or linen. In contrast to the floral and folkloristic patterns of traditional blue printing, Franziska´s work focuses on clear and minimal shapes. She arranges these into geometric compositions. Her artistic process is intuitive and handcrafted. The individual pieces shine in UV-true (predominantly) primary colours.
Erik K Skodvin (1979) is a Berlin based Norwegian who mainly works as a composer for film and as a musical explorer. Mostly known as a musician under the aliases Svarte Greiner (& half of Deaf Center) as well as the owner of the label Miasmah, he is educated as a graphic designer and has created the cover artwork for up to a hundred different records since the late 90s. On the side Erik has been a vivid photographer since the early days, and always has a camera on hand to try capture the perfect atmospheric moment. He usually focuses on a certain stillness, wherever it may be found - where light & shadows fall just right for an otherwordly setting.
His design, artwork and music typically aim for being on the border of the real and the unreal, often surreal and dreamlike. The process of creating either music or visuals is seen to him as different sides of the same coin. His different musical projects and releases are available from our shop. His works comes from his two art books, “Through Time” and “Nothing Left But Silence” on mi - so editions.
Monique Recknagel is an economist turned artist and label owner. She runs the boutique record label, Sonic Pieces since 2009. For the last one and a half decades the label has presented around 50 records which border between contemporary classical and avant-garde sounds. Monique has been quietly curating and hand-crafting each release with focus on quality rather than quantity while slowly creating a small but strong community of artists.
On the side, she co-runs the mi - so shop and makes minimal handcrafted artworks, often using textiles and leftover material.
