We´re excited to host the first Berlin appearance from Brussels based Mich Leemans aka Mich L. (Paper Hats, AB Salon). As someone who has over the years organized many concerts with Sonic Pieces and Miasmah artists in Brussels, we are glad to be able to invite him for a performance. Mich recently released his debut album of slow moving, meditating drone music called Air near silence on Belgian label Cortizona. Mich will perform on a Buchla synth and tape machine for an intimate deep listening session

Air near silence’ is made on an EMS Synthi A, and directly inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ concept of listening. The three works on are enamoured by the beauty found in hidden frequencies and harmonics of modular synths and old tape recorders, and prize their unusual fidelities in patiently unfolding, increasingly durational parts that exert their effect with a stealthy traction that builds from near nothingness to a powerful yet somehow fragile presence.“ - Boomkat
