We welcome Portuguese cellist & singer Joana Guerra to our in-store series.
Miasmah released Joana’s album Chão Vermelho (Red Floor) in 2020 - an album of impressionistic and experimental songs which feel like an exotic dream somewhere between traditional folk music and surrealism. Joana creates her own world, and the album stands out in the Miasmah catalogue yet feels at home there with its unique strangeness and beauty.
Guerra incorporates a wide range of influences in her music, including noise, improvisation, folk, jazz, experimental music, unifying these references in a distinctive approach. She travels all the way from Lisbon to perform at our store these two May evenings. We implore you to join us!
