Lynn Wright is releasing his debut solo album Before The Sinking Plains on September 4th through Miasmah. In connection with this we are excited to have him over to perform two release concerts for us at mi - so on 11th + 12th September, joined by Ben Smith Leverock. Since relocating to Berlin some years ago from New York, Lynn has worked closely with composer Simon Goff (who´s releasing an album on Sonic Pieces soon!) and amongst others plays lap steel guitar in Swans bassist Dana Schechter’s band Insect Ark. Solo, you can expect everything from washed-out dream pop and atmospheric drone works to sparse noir folk and minimalist vocal compositions.

“Wright, who has mostly eschewed developing a fixed artistic identity throughout his already long career, has preferred to remain on the periphery of collaborative projects and behind the scenes. It took until recent times for him to make “Before The Sinking Plains”, which arrives as his first solo recording after decades of traversing underground scenes in New York and beyond.
